Las Vegas, April 1963. The dinner show at the Silver Saguaro is in full swing when the man who runs it, showman Dex Lanigan, is found dead in his office above the main floor. Nobody saw anyone go upstairs. Every guest plays a performer, a member of staff or a famous visitor with a secret, personal goals and clues the others need, and one of them is the killer. One purchase includes the same case in three sizes: Mini for 4–6 guests, Classic for 6–9 and Grand for 10–20.
Three sizes, one purchase: the same night rebuilt for 6, 9 or 20 characters, always with one killer among them.
Colour or printer-friendly files in US Letter and A4, ready to download right after payment.
The host does not play: they read the narration, deal the characters and open the solution last.

Murder at the Midnight Show is a role-playing murder mystery for a dinner party or a night in with friends. The setting is a glamorous showroom on the Las Vegas Strip in 1963, with sequins, a big band and a headliner everyone came to see. Halfway through the evening Dex Lanigan, the showman who runs the place, is found dead upstairs while the whole room was watching the stage.
Your guests become the people who were there that night: the stage manager, the dance captain, a gossip columnist, a Hollywood producer, a visiting princess and more. Each of them has something to hide. Clues come out round by round, and the group has to answer three questions: when and how Dex died, how the killer reached his office without being seen, and who did it and why.
What is in the kit
Host Guide with narration for four rounds, a one-page Deal Sheet for assigning characters and a separate solution file to open at the end.
20 character files, each with a public page, a secret page and a clue page for every round.
12 evidence cards and 8 secret notes, including a floor plan of the hotel.
Case Sheet for every guest to write down their answers.
Party Extras: invitation, name tags, award certificates, signs, a menu card and tips for dressing the room.
How the evening runs
Round 1 · Arrival. Guests introduce themselves in character, mingle and size each other up.
Round 2 · After the Dinner Show. The death is announced. Evidence is shared and the first question is answered.
Round 3 · All Change. Everyone moves to a new table, fresh clues arrive and the route to the office is pieced together.
Round 4 · Sunrise on the Strip. Final clues, then everyone votes and the host reads the solution.
Scores and awards. Points for solved questions and secret goals, then certificates such as Best Costume.
Why it works
One killer, and only the killer may lie. Everyone else tells the truth about what they know, though they may keep their own secret quiet.
Memory returns round by round. Each guest reads new pages as the night goes on, so nobody knows everything at the start.
Characters nobody plays still count: the host reads their evidence pages aloud, so small groups never miss a clue.
A bonus puzzle: a coded message for the sharpest guests to crack.

Questions
Do I get all three sizes?
Yes. One purchase includes the Mini, Classic and Grand versions of Murder at the Midnight Show as separate downloads, each in a colour design and a printer-friendly design.
How many killers are there?
One. The killer is always a character played by a guest, and only the killer may lie. The Deal Sheet tells the host how to hand out characters without giving anything away.
Does the host play?
No. The host runs the evening, reads the narration and keeps the solution sealed until the vote, so everyone else can play.
What do I need to print?
A home printer is enough. Files come in US Letter and A4. Print each character file single-sided, cut out the cards and you are ready.
Can I get a refund?
Because the file is delivered instantly, you agree before payment that the download starts immediately and that you lose the right of withdrawal. If a file is damaged, incomplete or will not open, write to hello@forgottenmystery.com within 14 days and we will send you a working file.
