By using ForgottenMystery.com ("the Service") or buying anything on it, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Refund Policy and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Forgotten Mystery is an online detective game. All cases, characters and events are fictional. The Service offers three things:
Free case. One case in the Cases section can be played without paying.
Membership (subscription). A membership gives you online access to all cases in the Cases section of this website for as long as the membership is active. It does not include printable PDF files, and it does not include purchases made in our mobile apps.
Printable PDFs. Printable case files and escape room kits are sold separately as one-time purchases. Buying a printable does not give access to the online cases.
Memberships are billed in advance, monthly ($12.49 per month) or yearly ($42 per year), in US dollars. The price shown on the payment form at the time of purchase is the price you pay. A membership renews automatically at the end of each billing period and your card is charged again until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time from the account menu on the website ("Cancel subscription"). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period: you keep access until then and you are not charged again. We do not give full or partial refunds for a period that has already been paid. See the Refund Policy.
If we change the price of a plan, the new price applies to new members. Existing members keep their price unless we notify them by email at least 30 days before a change.
Printables on our Printables page are one-time purchases ($7.99 USD each, unless marked free). They are digital PDF downloads; nothing is shipped. A purchase is not a subscription and does not renew. Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to print the files for private, non-commercial use; you may not resell, share or publish them.
You need an account to buy a membership or a printable. You can sign in with Google or with a sign-in link sent to your email address. Purchases are tied to the account that made them, so use the same account to access them later. You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure. Guest play stores progress on your device only and cannot be used to make purchases.
All products are digital and are delivered immediately. A membership is delivered when premium access is switched on for your account, which happens within moments of a successful payment. A printable is delivered when the download button for that file becomes available in your account. We keep records of payments, of the consent given at checkout, and of access and downloads.
If you do not recognise a charge, were charged after cancelling, or cannot access what you paid for, write to support@forgottenmystery.com first. We answer within two business days and correct genuine errors. If a charge is disputed with a bank or card issuer, we may provide the payment provider with our records of the purchase, the terms accepted at checkout, and the access and download history of the account, and we may suspend the account while the dispute is open.
All content on the Service, including case files, stories, images, PDF files and code, belongs to ForgottenMystery.com and is protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from it without our written consent.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.

When you sign in with Google, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture. Guest users are not tracked. We also collect game progress data (completed cases, scores) to provide the Service.
Your information is used to: provide and maintain the Service, manage your subscription, display your progress on leaderboards, and communicate important updates about the Service.
All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information.
Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers. Guest account data is stored locally on your device using localStorage and is not transmitted to our servers.
We use essential cookies only for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data.

We send emails about new cases and offers only if you ticked the optional box when you signed in. You can withdraw this consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to support@forgottenmystery.com. Emails needed to run your account, such as sign-in links and receipts, are sent regardless.
When you buy a membership or a printable, the payment is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. We keep a record of what you bought, when, the terms you accepted at checkout, and when your account accessed or downloaded it. We use these records to give you access, to answer support requests, and to respond to payment disputes.

ForgottenMystery.com sells digital products only: online access to case files and downloadable PDF files. Because digital products are delivered immediately and cannot be returned, all purchases are final and refunds are not provided.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access to premium content until then. No full or partial refunds are given for the current period or for unused time.
Printables are one-time digital purchases that are delivered immediately. Before payment you are asked to agree that the download starts straight away and that you lose your right of withdrawal once it has started (EU Directive 2011/83/EU, Art. 16(m)). Printable purchases are therefore not refundable. If a file is damaged, incomplete or will not open, email support@forgottenmystery.com within 14 days and we will send you a working file.
If you were charged twice for the same purchase or charged after your subscription had ended, email support@forgottenmystery.com with your account email and we will correct the error.
Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under the consumer protection law of your country that cannot be excluded by agreement.
